We help organisations align insight, data, and governance. Founded by Sam Ragnarsson and Chad Payne, Rongo bridges the gaps between people, processes, and technology — turning complexity into structure, and structure into something people can actually use.
Rongo was founded by Sam Ragnarsson and Chad Payne to bring clarity and collaboration to the way organisations think and work.
With presence in both Christchurch and Hamilton, and a large proportion of our work delivered remotely, we work across councils, ministries, and industry groups throughout New Zealand — aligning stakeholders and simplifying the technical and organisational layers behind large programmes of work.
Rongo operates as an independent consulting initiative under HanSam Trading Logistics Ltd (NZBN 6727995), trading as HanSam Consulting. This structure allows Rongo to operate flexibly and transparently while maintaining full professional and financial accountability.
Bridges creative and analytical worlds. Develops frameworks that help organisations see the whole picture — from governance and risk to culture and communication. Focus on clarity, integrity, and human-centred design.
Connects policy and technology. Specialises in data alignment, infrastructure design, and cross-agency collaboration. Turns conceptual goals into practical, working systems.
Ensures structure behind the scenes — managing processes, communication, and business coordination that keep Rongo projects moving smoothly.
Our work is not about selling solutions. It is about building frameworks, projects, and decisions that last — starting with clarity of purpose and ending with something tangible.
Our newest initiative — a semantic accountability layer for public discourse. Making the meaning of terms visible before they are used to make decisions.
Explore the Register →Every day, governments, organisations, systems, and people use terms that sound precise — and mean something slightly different to everyone in the room. Often nobody notices. Sometimes the consequences are significant.
The Rongo Register is a shared language for what things mean. Not a dictionary, not a glossary — something more useful than both. Every term traces back to a verifiable source. Every definition describes what is included, what is excluded, and where the boundaries sit.
It is not an opinion platform. It is a structured way to describe what terms actually contain — so decisions can be made from a shared foundation.
Each project begins with clarity of purpose. If you are dealing with complexity that needs structure, data that needs alignment, or language that needs definition — we would like to hear from you.
We work best with organisations that are ready to move — not just talking about change, but committing to it. If that sounds like you, reach out directly.
